Hooldus

On väga oluline kanda masina eest head hoolt! Ainult nii teenib ta Sind pikki aastaid. Rocket Espresso masinate kodune hooldamine step-by-step:

Espressomasina hooldus

Ettevalmistus

Aseta „käppa“ „pime“ filter (kaasas masinaga).

Aseta „pimedasse filtrisse“ kas masinaga kaasa tulnud puhastustablett või teelusika otsatäis Pulyl puhastusvahendit (umbes sama suur kogus, nagu on puhastustablett) ja pane „käpp“ masina külge (nagu alustaksid espresso tegemist).

Nüüd saad alustada masina hooldusega. Aga enne veel veendu:

  • Masin peab olema korralikult soojenenud
  • Veeanum olgu täis puhast vett
  • Äravoolu vee alus olgu tühi

Hoolduse osa 1 – masina pesu

Ava pump 10'ks sekundiks... sule pump ja hoia pump suletuna 10 sekundit

Ava pump 10'ks sekundiks... sule pump ja hoia pump suletuna 10 sekundit

Ava pump 10'ks sekundiks... sule pump ja hoia pump suletuna 10 sekundit

Ehk teed seda 5 korda. 5 korda 10+10 sekundit = kokku 100 sekundit.

Hoolduse osa 2 – masina loputus

Võta masina küljest ära käpp.

Nüüd saad alustada masina loputusega.

Ava pump 10'ks sekundiks ja lase veel lihtsalt joosta masinast loputuskasti, seejärel sule pump. Oota 10 sekundit.

Nüüd on masina pesu tehtud. Kokku 2×100 sekundit ehk 3 minutit ja 20 sekundit. Lihtne!

Hoolduse osa 3 – lisade puhastus

  • Võta kruvikeeraja abil masina küljest filter (kui vajad abi, helista, õpetame).
  • Eemalda filtrilt kummitihend.

Hooldus on VÄGA tähtis. Võime vaid ette kujutada, mis mõju avaldab elementaarne puhtus espresso maitsele. Me võime teha mida iganes... kasutada ükskõik kui peeneid ube ning timmida masina maitset... aga kui tehnika on lihtsalt must siis... välja ei tule midagi.

Teine oluline aspekt on katlakivi, mis on kohvimasina suur vaenlane. Eesti veed on väga karbonaatide rikkad ehk karedad. Kare vesi kuumutamisel tekitab sadet, mida kutsutakse katlakiviks ning mis ummistab torusid, klappe seestpoolt ning võib rikkuda masina toimimise.

Kohvikutes on kohustus puhastusprotseduur läbi teha absoluutselt iga tööpäeva lõpus.

Maintenance

It is very important to take good care of your machine! Only then will it serve you for many years. Step-by-step home maintenance for Rocket Espresso machines:

Espresso machine maintenance

Preparation

Place the blind filter (included with the machine) into the portafilter.

Place either the cleaning tablet that came with the machine or a teaspoon tip of Pulyl cleaning agent (roughly the same amount as the cleaning tablet) into the blind filter, and attach the portafilter to the machine (as if you were about to make espresso).

Now you can begin maintaining the machine. But first, make sure:

  • The machine is fully warmed up
  • The water tank is full of clean water
  • The drip tray is empty

Part 1 — Machine Wash

Open the pump for 10 seconds... close the pump and keep it closed for 10 seconds

Open the pump for 10 seconds... close the pump and keep it closed for 10 seconds

Open the pump for 10 seconds... close the pump and keep it closed for 10 seconds

Repeat this 5 times. 5 times 10+10 seconds = 100 seconds total.

Part 2 — Machine Rinse

Remove the portafilter from the machine.

Now you can begin the rinse cycle.

Open the pump for 10 seconds and let the water simply flow from the machine into the drip tray, then close the pump. Wait 10 seconds.

Repeat this 5 times as well. 5 times 10+10 seconds = 100 seconds total.

The machine wash is now complete. Total: 2×100 seconds, or 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Simple!

Part 3 — Cleaning Accessories

  • Using a screwdriver, remove the filter screen from the machine (if you need help, call us, we'll guide you).
  • Remove the rubber gasket from the filter screen.
  • Clean both the filter screen and the rubber gasket (you may use a mild detergent, but make sure to rinse thoroughly).
  • Take the brush (included with the machine) and clean the area where the filter screen sits — where the water comes out (best done by wrapping the brush in a towel and letting hot water run at the same time). Make sure the entire area is free of coffee residue. No detergent is needed.
  • Remove the filter basket from both portafilters, wash the portafilter and the filter basket separately. The metal should be shiny and not coated with a layer of dark coffee residue.
  • Reattach the filter screen to the machine — place the screen on the portafilter and use the portafilter to push the rubber gasket back into position.
  • Empty the drip tray and clean it as well.
  • If needed, clean the exterior of the machine — use the included polishing cloth and stainless steel cleaner (available at any home appliance store).

And that's it. The explanation is long, but the whole procedure actually takes no more than 5 minutes.

How often should you perform this cleaning procedure?

Maintenance is VERY important. We can only imagine what effect basic cleanliness has on the taste of espresso. We can do anything... use the finest beans and fine-tune the machine's settings... but if the equipment is simply dirty, then... nothing good comes out.

Another important aspect is limescale, which is the espresso machine's greatest enemy. Estonian water is very rich in carbonates, meaning it is hard. When hard water is heated, it creates deposits called limescale, which clogs pipes and valves from the inside and can damage the machine's operation.

In coffee shops, the cleaning procedure must be performed at the end of absolutely every working day. Whether it's always done... that depends on the coffee shop. But you can tell from the taste of the coffee, so you can draw your own conclusions.

If the machine is for home use — making a few to up to 10 espressos per day — our recommendation is to perform the cleaning procedure no less than once a week.

5 minutes a week — that's not a lot!

PS — our constant and important recommendation — use filtered water in your espresso machine. Primarily for taste, but also to prevent limescale buildup.
